Pediatric PACU - Nursing

Description

We are seeking a caring and detail-oriented Pediatric PACU Nurse to join our perioperative services team. In this specialized role, you will provide critical post-anesthesia care to children recovering from surgery or diagnostic procedures. As a Pediatric PACU Nurse, your focus will be on monitoring and stabilizing young patients as they emerge from anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort, and a smooth transition to recovery.

Responsibilities include continuous monitoring of vital signs, managing airway and pain, administering medications, identifying and responding to complications, and offering emotional support to both patients and their families. You’ll collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, pediatricians, and surgical staff to deliver age-appropriate, family-centered care.

This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, pediatric expertise, and a calm, nurturing presence. You must be capable of handling the fast pace and unpredictability of post-anesthesia recovery, especially in young or non-verbal patients who may struggle to communicate discomfort or distress.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Active RN license

- BLS certification

- Minimum of one (1) year of experience
