Registered Nurse / Nurse Manager Telemetry

Job Summary:
The Nurse Manager Telemetry position is located in an acute care setting, overseeing an 8th floor Medical/Surgical and Telemetry unit along with the Emergency Department Hold and Float Pool. The role requires managing a team on dayshift, ensuring quality patient care and operational efficiency in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch, 37.5 hours per week, for a duration from 10/13/2026 to 01/12/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting, with specific expertise in stroke care and telemetry. Certifications include BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from the American Heart Association, along with 8 hours of stroke education (additional 4 hours provided).
  • Experience must include stroke and telemetry care, with the ability to read and interpret telemetered patient data.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Management experience in a hospital unit, de-escalation training, and familiarity with Allscripts charting system.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other medical/surgical telemetry units or long-term pulmonary units, but travelers will not be assigned vent patients.
  • Additional Information: The role involves supervising RN staff, PCTs, and RTs, with responsibilities including patient vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, ADLs, linen changes, and supply management. A one-day unit orientation with a preceptor will be provided.
