Job Summary:
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Registered Nurse in Olympia, Washington. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with complex medical needs, including long length of stay patients, some of whom require heavy care, behavioral support, and management of various diagnoses such as dementia, autism, and psychosis. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient assessment, and care planning to facilitate patient baseline improvement and placement.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification, 1 year of nursing experience, experience with medical-surgical units, charting proficiency in EPIC (Electronic Patient Information Charting system), and ability to manage patient ports, feeding tubes, wound care, and multiple chronic conditions.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with long length of stay patients, behavioral health, and skilled in managing complex care needs.
  • Float: Will float to similar units within scope of practice to meet department needs.
  • Additional Information: The unit has a daily census of approximately 18 adult and geriatric patients, including acute medical cases and long-term care residents. Patients often require assistance with mobility, medication administration in various forms, and behavioral management. Care involves assessments, vitals, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams. Equipment such as lifts, wheelchairs, and mobility aids are available to support patient care.
  • Submittal Details: Must provide two references covering at least one year within the last three years, including charge RN or lead references. Completion of non-billable modules averaging 16 hours, with prior approval for hours exceeding 20, is required. Modules are completed pre-start and annually, with self-reported completion records.
