Certified Nursing Assistant / Long Term Care

Job Summary:
Long Term Care Certified Nursing Assistant (LTC CNA) position is located in a long-term care facility. The role involves supporting patient care in geriatrics and dementia units, with shifts either during the day or night on a rotating schedule. The assignment offers flexibility for 13 or 26 weeks, with guaranteed hours and the potential for additional on-call support.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, at least 0 years of experience, current or pending CNA license in Alaska (must have already submitted the license application), documentation of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate, transcript, etc.).
  • Preferred Qualifications: LTC experience, experience with patient vital signs, patient transfers, and assistance with activities of daily living such as feeding, grooming, and toileting.
  • Additional Information: All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation (one-time $10 fee). RTO (Reasonable Time Off) requests are limited to no more than 2 weeks for a 26-week contract and no more than 1 week for a 13-week contract, to be submitted with the application. Candidates must be willing to work at least two of the three major winter holidays and be at least 50 miles from the facility. Multiple certifications and equipment such as vital sign machines and medical supplies are used in daily tasks. There is an on-site orientation and local shuttle services for transportation. Candidates will be expected to float within scope as needed, and a minimum of 0 years of experience is required.
