Job Summary
The ICU Neuro (Intensive Care Unit Neurological) registered nurse position is located in an 18-bed neurocritical care unit that specializes in providing advanced care for critically ill adult patients with neuro diagnoses such as stroke, aneurysms, post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury. This role involves working on rotating shifts of 8 or 12 hours, with responsibilities that include hemodynamic monitoring, ICP management, and collaborative patient care within a comprehensive stroke center.

Job Details

  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license
  • Education Requirements: RN license; 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in ICU Neuro or relevant specialty field
  • Location Requirements: Inpatient RN travelers must have two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to
  • Years of Experience: 2
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Responsibilities include managing neuro patients with diagnoses such as stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury, utilizing specialized interventions like ICP monitoring, ventriculostomy, and cerebral hemodynamic management. Must have experience with ICP or ventriculostomy and pass telemetry testing prior to clearance.
  • Willingness to float as needed.
  • Must pass strict pass/fail telemetry testing, with two attempts allowed, prior to starting.
  • Additional qualifications include experience in charting with Epic, managing post neurosurgery and neuro ICU patients, and supporting interdisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment.
