Job Summary
The Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician (ORT) position is based in an acute care facility. This role involves supporting various surgical teams by maintaining sterile environments and preparing surgical instruments, with a focus on advanced oncology surgical cases. The technician will be responsible for ensuring smooth surgical procedures across multiple specialties including Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Neuro, ENT, Gynecology, and Vascular, among others.

- Shift Time: Days
- Shift Hours: 12 hours
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA, ASATT
- Education/Experience Requirements: Valid certification as a surgical technologist or military trained, 2 years of endovascular experience preferred, at least 1 year of surgical tech experience required, and valid state license (compact license must be in hand at submission).
- Responsibilities include supporting adult surgical specialties with a focus on treating advanced oncology cases, sterilizing equipment, and assisting surgical teams during procedures.
- Schedule involves on-call duties: 16 hours on weekday standby shifts every 4 weeks and 24 hours during weekends, with coverage expected on holidays.
- Candidates must include responses to specific scheduling and employment history questions during submission, with references covering the past 1 year (6 months for CNAs).
- Applicants may be required to float between nearby facilities, and refusal to float may impact assignment continuity.
- Additional operational details include equipment knowledge, participation in modules pre-start and during orientation, and adherence to assignment-specific policies regarding RTO requests and background checks.
