Registered Nurse / Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in a pediatric healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized care to critically ill children across various units, including Pediatric Medicine/Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The position requires flexibility to float between units and adheres to self-scheduling practices.

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Schedule Flexibility: Self-scheduling, work 3 consecutive shifts or split shifts, variable weekend shifts
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to Pediatric Medicine/Surgical and NICU units
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2 in the PICU setting
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist/manage intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line care, sedation management, ICP monitoring, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, PICC line management, post-cardiac surgery care, suctioning, telemetry, ventilator management
  • Other Requirements: Must have prior charge experience and charting experience with Epic system; minimum 1 year of relevant experience
