Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in an urban healthcare facility. This role involves providing acute care in a fast-paced Emergency Department with a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients. The position requires flexibility to float between units and the ability to manage a variety of critical and non-critical cases.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 14:30-03:00 (block scheduling is never promised or guaranteed)
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid NY Nursing License; CPR Certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course); at least 2 years of ER experience, including some Pediatric experience; recent experience documenting travel assignments; valid driver`s license matching demographic address; experience with EPIC electronic medical record system; documentation of travel experience; proof of RTO (Return To Office) must be included at submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with rapid infusor and Arctic Sun equipment; charge nurse capability highly preferred.
• Additional Information: Floating requirement applicable. Navy Blue scrubs required. The unit has 64 beds with specialized zones for triage, acute care, super track, trauma, CDU, and psych patients. Common diagnoses include stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Equipment utilized includes rapid infusor and Arctic Sun. Patients range from newborns to Geriatric. The role involves administering drips and medications such as pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine & Dopamine), vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lido), sedation (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin.
