Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position available in a hospital setting. This contract role involves providing care to pre- and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work on a rotating 12-hour day/night schedule, including every other weekend and holiday shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour day/night variable shifts, 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday coverage.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, Basic Life Support (AHA or ARC), minimum of 2+ years medical surgical experience, recent hospital experience, trauma level II experience required, Epic charting experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor`s Degree.
• Float: Float rotation to all inpatient units may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit is a 40-bed post-surgical care unit with a high patient turnover, averaging 10-15 admissions daily. Nurse to patient ratios are typically 1:4 or 1:5 during day/evening shifts, and 1:5-7 during night shifts. The unit maintains a high occupancy rate of 90-95% with an average patient stay of 2-3 days. Ability to multitask and prioritize based on patient acuity is essential. Throughout flu season, staff declining vaccination must wear masks at all times, in accordance with facility policy.
