Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in an acute care facility in a metropolitan area. The role involves providing high-quality patient care on a 41-bed unit that predominantly handles high-acuity Telemetry and Cardiac patients. This position requires a comprehensive skill set in cardiac monitoring, assessments, and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: 12-hour days, 6:30 AM 7:00 PM, with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, starting 11/02/2026, with a bi-weekly orientation period
• Required Qualifications: Valid current compact license; AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac/Telemetry units, including at least 1 travel assignment; trauma level II experience; recent Electronic Patient Records (EPIC) experience requiring a checkoff class; proficiency in Telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers must pass Telemetry tests).
• Responsibilities include initiating and titrating drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino acids, etc.), PIV insertion, managing chest tubes/indwelling drains, CBI, stable drips (Heparin, Lasix, Protonix), antidysrhythmics (e.g., Cardizem, Tikosyn, Amiodarone), and nephrostomy tubes.
• Float Requirements: First to float within skillset on same campus, with potential to float to adjacent campuses with a 2-hour notice; cross-campus floatation is unlikely but possible.
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule; every other holiday.
• Additional Information: Must be a hard worker, resilient, adaptable to change, with strong assessment and critical thinking skills. The unit is renowned for staff retention and experienced team members, with a manager leading for over 15 years. Precepting of students and new hires may be required.
