Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Oncology Floor

Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor RN Location: Saint Lukes. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to oncology patients within a tertiary care facility. The role includes administering inpatient chemotherapy regimens, performing post-surgical care, and supporting patients across all phases of cancer treatment.

Job Details

  • Position Description: RN / Neuro Oncology. Ratios: 1:5. Experience requirement: 2 years Oncology experience, previous charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred. First-timers accepted.
  • Certifications Required: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC).
  • Skills Required: IV therapy/infusions (administration of coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, blood products), care and management of ports, central line blood draw, infusion pump management, oncology emergency management (sepsis), psychosocial care (advanced directives, patient/family education), symptom management, chest tube care, colostomy care, Foley catheter insertion/management, isolation precautions, telemetry interpretation and monitoring, wound care, pain management (IV push narcotics, PCA pump, transdermal patches), postoperative surgical care.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Float within scope to meet facility needs; regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities. Open to accommodating block schedule; no more than 7 days of RTO for the assignment; documentation due 2 Fridays before the start date with modules completed as specified.
