Registered Nurse / Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in Springfield This position involves providing specialized nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The role demands clinical expertise in pediatric critical care, ventilator management, and a team-oriented approach to patient care. The assignment lasts for 13 weeks, with scheduled night shifts, working a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 1830-0700, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current RN license (eligible in Missouri or licensed in Missouri); BLS and PALS certifications from AHA; 2 years PICU experience, vent competent, with at least 1 year post-orientation experience
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified
• Float: Float rotation may be required; nurses may work in NICU, PICU, pediatric medical floors, or Peds ED depending on patient volume
• Additional Information: Night shift orientation is on day shift; candidates must be available for the entire week. Utilizes nursing process to provide patient care, evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate with departments, and maintain patient rights and confidentiality. Works in a fast-paced, clinical environment requiring physical stamina and team collaboration.
