Job Summary
The healthcare provider in the Emergency Room (ER) specialty is seeking a qualified ER Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary assignment at a Level II Trauma Center. This position involves providing emergency patient care in a 32-bed ED with a daily census of approximately 120 patients. The ER RN will deliver high-quality care across adult and pediatric patient populations, supporting a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position/ Specialty: ER RN, Emergency Room
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), minimum 48 hours per week
- Schedule: Nights; 4x12s or 3x12s shifts rotating to cover weekend needs
- Required Qualifications: Active IL license or ETA; minimum 2 years ER experience; certifications including ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC; at least 2 years of recent ER nursing experience; first-timer accepted
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience, Cerner charting system experience, community hospital experience, trauma level II certification
- Clinical/Operational Details:
- Experience with general emergency department care, Level II trauma center protocols
- Capable of interpreting dysrhythmias, managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and performing 12-lead EKGs
- Skills including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting IVs
- Manage a wide range of cases, including trauma, pediatric emergencies, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and orthopedic cases
- Required to float within scope as needed; travel experience may be preferred
- Able to handle cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and critical procedures
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC required at time of application
- Start Date: 10/26/2026
- End Date: 01/25/2027
- Additional Information:
- Open to first-timers and flexible with assignment start dates
- No on-call requirement, but may work weekends as needed
- COVID-19 vaccination not required; flu vaccination required with exemptions only for medical/religious reasons
- Candidate must be pre-closed at time of submission, confirm compliance, and review RTO restrictions
