Job Summary
The organization is seeking a qualified Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join a 24-bed acute care unit located in an unspecified area. This position involves providing specialized critical care for patients with complex conditions, including vented, cardiac, stroke, trauma, sepsis, and post-surgical cases. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care within a cohesive, team-oriented environment.

Job Details

  • Position: ICU Registered Nurse
  • Location: Unspecified
  • Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week; shifts include every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed; possibility for floating between ICU and PCU within the unit.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; current licensure to submit; facility-specific orientation required; valid license to practice as an RN.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Zoll thermaguard and cooling systems, EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Additional Information: Responsible for managing vents, respiratory treatments, and titratable drips including vasoactive and sedative medications within written parameters. Provides patient care duties such as vital signs, Foley care, bathing, IV pulls, specimen collection, and bladder scans. This role supports a multidisciplinary team including intensivists in-house 7 days a week, hospitalists available 24/7, and respiratory therapists on-site 24/7.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, alternating between ICU and PCU patients within the unit.
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Nurse Aids: Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at 1:8 ratio assisting with patient care.
  • Additional notes: The unit emphasizes teamwork and a positive culture, offering interaction with travelers and outdoor activities in the area.
