Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a Level I trauma center. This fast-paced assignment involves providing specialized care to adult patients with a variety of diagnoses, utilizing advanced cardiac and neurological skills. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care within a 38-bed unit, supporting interdisciplinary teams and utilizing Cerner charting systems.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois RN license, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, minimum 1 year of relevant experience, and experience in telemetry, neurology, and stepdown care.
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, experience with Cerner electronic charting, and level I trauma unit experience.
- Float: Will float as needed within scope to meet facility demands.
- Additional Information:
- Need to interpret dysrhythmias, manage post-cardiac procedures, and handle ventilated patients.
- Must be proficient in IV therapy, medication management, and advanced cardiac monitoring.
- Experience with tracheostomy care, neuro trauma, orthopedic trauma, and wound care preferred.
- The unit offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, radiology, and pharmacy.
- Orientation includes 24 hours of virtual training; completion required within 1 week of start date.
- Travelers must be prepared for high patient throughput with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with charge nurses managing four patients.
