Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary
An ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse is needed in the area. This position involves floating within various units including neurological, trauma, medical, and surgical ICUs, as well as PCUs and CCUs, to deliver critical patient care. The role requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
• Education Requirements: Registered Nurse (RN) license; minimum of 1 year ICU experience required
• Location Requirements: Must be licensed as an RN in the state of employment
• Years of Experience: 1 year minimum ICU experience
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 48 hours per week
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Responsibilities include cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent and bipap management, invasive line management, tracheostomies, chest tubes, lumbar drains, IV medication titration, medication administration documentation, and bedside reporting
• Support on the unit includes a charge nurse, hospitalist, respiratory therapist, and intensivist accessible 24/7, with a cardiologist on call for CVICU patients
• Charting System: Epic Experience is required
• Orientation: 1 day general hospital orientation; 1 day unit orientation (12 hours) on ICU; 1 day of 12 hours on similar units; Telemetry competency required prior to start
