Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Specialist in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, with a focus on safety and support for both mother and newborn. The position requires adherence to clinical protocols and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS, NRN (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.
• Education/Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Valid state license; compact license accepted.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include managing postpartum vaginal or cesarean delivery, tubal ligation, circumcision, GYN surgeries, and newborn care including thermoregulation and glucose management.
• Clinical duties encompass blood/blood products administration, use of epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps, wound management, and postpartum re-admission care.
• Skills required: Postpartum, discharge teaching, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, postpartum hemorrhage management, pregnancy-induced hypertension, use of electric/manual breast pumps, episiotomy/incision care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and use of IV medications like opioids and magnesium sulfate.
• Possibility of float to NICU or L&D, or to other nearby facilities as needed.
• Must be prepared to work scheduled holidays and adhere to staffing needs.
• Submission must include responses to a specified question regarding prior work at a Providence facility, and provide 2 references covering the past year.
