Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurse position is located in an acute care setting. This role involves providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care, including attending deliveries, postpartum care, triage, and managing patients with various obstetric diagnoses. The position encompasses night shifts, with a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a diverse community environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE certification, and at least 0 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Preferred Qualifications: Mother-baby experience of at least 1 year, charge nurse experience, and familiarity with delivering and stabilizing newborns, including attending deliveries and newborn care within the first two hours
• Additional Information:
  • Must have experience with magnesium and titrate drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, and occasionally insulin
  • Serve a diverse patient population, including patients with conditions such as hypertension, gestational diabetes, and antepartum needs
  • Follow AWHONN staffing standards for ratios and patient care
  • Number of beds: 14 L&D beds, with a combination of triage and postpartum couplets care rooms
  • Staffing includes resource nurses, triage RNs, nurse aides, surgical techs, and in-house OB hospitalists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and anesthesia 24/7
  • Must be able to attend deliveries, perform physical assessments, stabilize newborns, and complete postpartum care
  • Scrub attire includes hospital-issued scrubs, changed at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Orientation: 4 shifts specific to unit, including C-sections, postpartum, and triage, with required compliance and Epic Curio system training completed prior to start
  • Floating to multiple sites within the same healthcare network, with notice prior to shifts, is required
