Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a high-volume, fast-paced healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized care during high-risk deliveries, functioning as a Baby Nurse during delivery, and continuing neonatal care until transfer to postpartum. The position supports obstetric patients, private obstetricians, and community care clinics with a focus on high acuity environments.
Job Details
- Certifications: ACLS (Preferred), AWHONN Advanced (Preferred), AWHONN Intermediate (Preferred), BLS (Required), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)
- Education Requirements: 1 Year of experience in Labor and Delivery, High risk experience preferred, valid compact license in hand, minimum 1 year experience required
- Location Requirements: Candidate must be within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Years of Experience: 1 year minimum
- Shift Details: 12-hour day shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Shift posted every 6 weeks, meeting unit needs
- Responsibilities: Support high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery services; assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries; circulate and provide newborn care including eyes and Vit K injections, assessments, and stabilization until transfer to postpartum; support postpartum and antepartum units; follow AWHONN guidelines and EPIC electronic fetal monitoring protocols.
- Additional Information: Floating to sister facilities supporting mother/baby units as needed; may assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal care; must be comfortable working in high acuity environments with advanced obstetric skills.
- Submission Requirements: Include response regarding prior employment at Providence facilities, two references covering one year within the last three years, and confirmation of valid licensure.
