Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit supporting numerous deliveries each month. The position requires clinical expertise in obstetric and neonatal care, with responsibilities that include assisting with deliveries, circulating during procedures, and newborn care until transfer to postpartum.

Job Details

  • Certifications: Required: BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate certifications.
  • Qualifications: Valid state license with a compact license in hand at submission. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery. High risk obstetric experience required.
  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Requirements: Must have high-risk obstetric experience and be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. Experience in electronic fetal monitoring is valued. The candidate should be capable of circulating during deliveries, providing newborn care, and performing assessments and interventions such as eye care, thigh assessments, and injections. Floating to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby is required; float rotation may be needed.
  • Responsibilities: Assisting with high-risk deliveries, providing newborn care, functioning as a Baby Nurse during delivery, performing assessments, and supporting patients with various obstetric and neonatal procedures.
  • Submission Requirements: Please include responses to whether the candidate has previously worked at a Providence facility, along with details. Two references covering at least one year within the last three years are required.
