Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Medical

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical nurse proficient in step-down unit care at a facility location. The ideal candidate will provide quality patient care on a rotating shift schedule, managing various complex cases including respiratory, neurological, and chronic illnesses, with experience in common drips and medications such as insulin infusions, cardiazem, heparin, Lasix, Precedex, and low-dose pressors.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; 2+ years of ICU nursing experience; valid nursing license in practicing state; ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and every other holiday.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing respiratory and neurological patient populations; familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system; comfort on a step-down unit managing up to three patients.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit consists of 24 beds with a staff-to-patient ratio of 1:3. Orientation period spans three days. Candidates will work within a unit caring for patients with respiratory diseases, neurological conditions, chronic illnesses, and COVID-19. Scrubs must be Navy Blue Pants and Solid Navy-Blue tops or Solid white, with long-sleeve shirts under scrubs in Navy or White. The facility supports skill-based hiring and has a flexible cancellation policy allowing the hospital to cancel shifts without penalty under specified conditions.
