Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Location: unspecified. This position involves providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients within a Level II Trauma Center`s step-down unit. The role requires managing cardiac drips and other complex patient needs, with the flexibility to float between units as needed.

Job Details

• Position Description: 1Y/1ST TIMER - PCU/Stepdown RN. Candidates may choose one holiday either Thanksgiving or Christmas but cannot have both. The role involves managing cardiac drip titration and patient care in a short-term acute care setting. The RN will float between units, including telemetry and medical-surgical floors, if overstaffed.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license acceptable), Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale). At least 1 year of experience in a similar setting, with experience in cardiac telemetry, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, and familiarity with Epic charting system.
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be able to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and work within specified holiday schedules, with at least three of five major holidays available. Candidates should have experience with adult and geriatric patient populations, and be comfortable floating between units as needed.
• Submission Requirements: Applicants must include responses to specified questions related to prior experience at Providence facilities and provide two recent references covering one year during the last three years.
