Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) Nights in an urban setting. This role involves caring for complex cardiovascular patients in a newly established 16-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU). The RN will utilize advanced assessment, telemetry, and clinical judgment skills to monitor and support patients transitioning from critical care or requiring a higher level of care than routine medical-surgical units.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Critical Care nursing experience, experience with primary continuous bedside monitoring (ECG, SpO2, BP, RR), cardiology and cardiac surgery specialty experience, ACLS certification, expertise in continuous invasive pressure monitoring (Arterial Line, CVP), temporary pacing (transvenous pacing, epicardial wire pacing), vasopressor infusion management, inotrope infusion management, chest tube management, phlebotomy, and peripheral IV insertion
• Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of critical care experience highly preferred (not limited to cardiac ICU), charge RN experience, RN precepting experience
• Additional Information: RNs will care for a complex cardiovascular patient population with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio, utilizing and developing skills in invasive pressure management, medication infusions, pacing, and other specialized cardiovascular procedures.
