Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Nights located in Marion, Illinois. This position involves providing patient care on a 36-bed medical/surgical/orthopedic unit. The role requires confident, independent nursing skills, with responsibilities including managing patient conditions, charting with EPIC, and responding to staffing needs in a fast-paced environment. The assignment is scheduled to begin on 10/05/2026 and conclude on 01/03/2027.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour Night shifts (7:00 pm 7:30 am), minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (no pending licenses or temporary licenses), American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, 2 years of Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience, Charting experience using EPIC electronic medical records, associate degree or certificate in nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to Emergency Department/Intensive Care Unit to care for medical holds only.
• Additional Information: Candidates must demonstrate resilience, social aptitude, and the ability to manage change effectively. The unit maintains a 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratio with CNA support, which can temporarily shift to 1:4 depending on staffing needs. No local candidates within a 40-mile radius are eligible for this position. The assignment involves every other weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled.
