Registered Nurse / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart specialist position in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing surgical assistance and circulator duties for complex cardiovascular procedures, including CABG, valve replacement, and VAD insertions. It requires extensive expertise in the RN Circulator role within a high-performing, fast-paced cardiac surgery environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN License, BLS certification, extensive expertise and experience in the RN Circulator role for cardiovascular procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Scrub/first assist experience and proficiency is preferred but not required.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit has 6 operating rooms specializing in cardiac surgeries, with all cases requiring 1 scrub and 1 circulator. Pump cases also require a first assist/Heart Holder, which can be an RN or CST. Candidate must be familiar with Cerner documentation system and hospital-specific policies will be provided during orientation. The facility boasts a 3-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) with excellent surgical outcomes. No training for medical staff; cases are highly efficient.
