Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse in a rural healthcare setting. This role involves providing emergency patient care in a critical access hospital that handles a wide variety of illnesses and injuries, including traumas related to nearby highway accidents and elderly ailments. The position requires floating from medical-surgical units to the emergency department as needed, ensuring versatile clinical support.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Previous Emergency Room (ER) experience preferred; candidates must have at least 1-2 years of ER experience for consideration. Variability in diagnoses includes trauma, elderly care, and other critical conditions. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) using CPSI is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior ER experience of 2 or more years is preferred.
• Additional Information: The position involves floating between medical-surgical and emergency units, providing comprehensive critical care to a diverse patient population. This hospital is located 2.5 hours from the nearest large hospital, emphasizing the importance of adaptable, high-quality emergency care.
