Job Summary:
Social Worker - Alaska - This acute care social work position involves providing psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families within an inpatient facility. The clinician will conduct psychosocial assessments, develop discharge plans, and coordinate care in a fast-paced environment supporting pediatric and adult patient populations.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 10/19/2026 and ending on 04/19/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Masters or higher degree in social work from a CWSE (Council on Social Work Education) accredited school, Alaska state social work license (temporary license accepted if in progress), at least 2 years of acute care social work experience, and must be able to apply for a LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) temporary license.
• Certifications: LCSW*, LMSW, MSW, LMSW/MSW.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in emergency department, pediatric, or adult inpatient settings, proficiency with Epic charting system, and experience with psychosocial assessments.
• Additional Information: Candidates will provide brief clinical interventions, resource navigation, and discharge planning. Social workers will work closely with RN Case Managers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe and ethical patient discharges, support a person-centered approach, and perform assessments across various inpatient units, including pediatric and adult care teams. Due to the consult-based nature, clinicians should be prepared for potential float to support like units if needed.
