Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a rotating shift position. This role involves leading the coordination and delivery of high-quality, compassionate patient care during labor, postpartum, and special care. The nurse utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and their families. Effective communication of pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team and participation in finding solutions for variances from patient goals are essential components of this position.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shift; 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current licensure by the appropriate state board, BLS certification, and a minimum of 0 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Skills:
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the labor and postpartum units.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Excellent computer skills.
• Schedule Notes: The position requires working a rotating shift pattern, with shifts often scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, for a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: This role requires proficiency in labor, postpartum, and special care settings, with at least one year of Cerner electronic health record system experience.
