Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry Nurse (MS TELE) position available in the region. This role involves providing care for neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including cerebrovascular accidents, elective back and neck surgeries, and cerebral angiograms, in a dedicated 22-bed neuro unit. The position requires strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on telemetry monitoring and general medical care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; two years of experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry, including neuro experience; recent EPIC charting experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor`s Degree in Nursing
• Float: Float to medical unit may be required
• Additional Information: The nurse will manage a variety of clinical responsibilities including neuro assessments, dysphagia screening, IV medication titration, blood and blood product administration, venipuncture, blood cultures, NG tubes, drain management, and medication infusions. The unit operates with a nursing ratio of 1:4, and the charge nurse will have patient assignments. Candidates should have resilience, adaptability, good social skills, and the ability to thrive in a changing environment. The position involves working every other weekend and holiday rotation.
