Registered Nurse / Operating Room

Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in the specialty of Operating Room is needed at a healthcare facility location. This role involves providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties within a Level III Trauma facility. The OR Nurse is responsible for coordinating and managing patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and supporting efficient surgical workflow.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: 2+ years of OR nursing experience required; BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience; location requirement: open to qualified candidates; schedule: Evenings, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: The OR Nurse manages patient assessment and advocacy, surgical case preparation, equipment and supply management, documentation, specimen handling, medication administration, and coordination of multidisciplinary team activities. The role requires adaptability, strong clinical judgment, knowledge of diverse surgical procedures and instrumentation, and the ability to prioritize competing demands efficiently.
• Additional Information: The circulating nurse in the OR is responsible for patient safety, documentation, workflow coordination, and sterile field support during surgical procedures, supporting specialties such as General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry. Fingerprints are required for all travel nurses, and candidates must be registered with the state of New Mexico, as the fingerprint process can take several weeks. This role does not involve floating.
