Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor

Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor travel registered nurse (RN) position is located at a healthcare facility in the Denver metropolitan area. The role involves providing specialized orthopedic medical-surgical nursing care on a 4th floor unit. The assignment offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on orthopedics, trauma, and surgical procedures, supporting patient recovery and mobility.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN), BLS certification, and at least 1 year of recent acute care hospital orthopedic experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Orthopedics or trauma nursing background, experience with medical/surgical procedures, and familiarity with EMR systems.
• Additional Information: The unit has 44 beds, with a patient-to-RN ratio of approximately 1:5 during the day and night shifts, when possible, not exceeding 1:6. Equipment includes lifts for mobility, chest tubes, Hemovac drains, wound vacs, JP drains, PCA pumps, and Foley catheters. Typical procedures include drain removal and PICC line placements in collaboration with the infusion team.
