Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery nurse in a high-risk unit. The role involves circulating during C-Sections, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, and providing care for a variety of obstetric conditions. The position requires collaboration with neonatal and anesthesia teams, with shift coverage during night hours.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Rotation includes every other week, with 18 hours of on-call duty within a 6-week period.
• Required Qualifications: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with at least two years of high-risk Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience, circulating in the Operating Room (OR), and familiarity with common obstetric diagnoses such as labor, cesarean sections, pre-eclampsia, diabetes mellitus, and antepartum complications. Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing obstetric emergencies and working in a high-acuity environment.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be able to float to postpartum, circulate during C-Sections, and adhere to guidelines set by the Association of Women`s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Self-scheduling is available, but flexibility to fill in where needed is expected. The unit features a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with in-house neonatology and anesthesia available 24/7. Telemetry monitors are GE Corometrics Electronic Fetal Heart Monitor systems, and staff are expected to read their own fetal monitor strips.
