Job Summary:
Orthopedic Medical Surgical Nurse (MS ORTHO) in Asheville, North Carolina. This position involves providing specialized nursing care on a busy orthopedic inpatient unit, supporting patients with diverse musculoskeletal conditions. The role requires delivering clinical excellence in a fast-paced hospital environment, focused on patient safety and recovery.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, from 09/20/2026 to 12/20/2026.
- Required Qualifications: NC Licensed Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, no minimum experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Hospital experience or orthopedic experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The unit has 32 individual rooms and a team of approximately 50 staff members, including charge RNs, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and a HUC. Typical patient ratios on night shift are 6:1 (stretch to 7:1). The unit uses Cerner electronic medical records and features equipment such as walkers, bedside commodes, bladder scanners, CPM, Sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move, vital sign machines, hover mats, bair huggers, and wheelchairs. The role involves procedures such as dressing changes, suture/staple removal, Foley catheterization, NG tube management, wound vac maintenance, and removal.
