Registered Nurse / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse located in Webster, TX. This full-time shift-based role involves providing specialized care for premature and critically ill infants within a busy NICU setting. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional to support both night shifts and unit operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable neonatal patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification; current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; valid license to practice as a registered nurse; at least 1 year of nursing experience; must be able to work night shifts.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with endotracheal tubes, ventilators, cooling procedures, and surgical patients is advantageous.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Candidates will be responsible for safe medication administration including calculation of medications, handling of environmental management bundles using the five patient rights, and care of patients with nasogastric/nasal gastric tubes. Proficiency with NICU equipment such as radiant warmers, ventilators, and monitors is required. Applicants should demonstrate developmentally appropriate care techniques for preterm infants and promote safe sleeping practices for infants at 32-34 weeks gestation. The role might involve performing procedures like UAC/UVC placement, lab draws, and bedside surgical interventions.
