Job Summary:
L&D (Labor and Delivery) Nurse in a healthcare facility specializing in maternal and neonatal care. This role involves providing support during labor, delivery, and postpartum to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and neonate. The position requires collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license with at least 3 years of nursing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in NICU or Level 2 Special Care Nursery (SCN). Previous postpartum experience is preferred but not required. Candidate should be comfortable assisting in deliveries, starting neonatal intravenous lines, and managing neonatal care. Experience with electronic health records, preferably Cerner, is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in postpartum care, Cerner electronic health record system.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to postpartum or pediatric units as needed; however, it is unlikely for travelers. Flexibility to assist in various departments such as postpartum or pediatrics is appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Additional Information: The unit features an integrated special care nursery with an 18-bed labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum unit. The nursery typically cares for neonates of 32 weeks and above, with an average census of 2-5 neonates. Nurses participate in deliveries, including cesarean sections, and manage neonates requiring surfactant administration via Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA).
