Job Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a high-acuity unit. This role involves providing care for patients with conditions such as strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis. The RN will work nights, providing case management and clinical support in a fast-paced environment requiring independent practice and quick decision-making.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, approximately 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; BLS certification via AHA; ACLS certification via AHA; PALS certification via AHA; TNCC certification; De-Escalation certification; RN License in state of employment or compact; 0 years of experience
- Responsibilities: Provide routine and complex nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients; administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor side effects and effectiveness; document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided; assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers; make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers; deliver patient-centered care addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
- Additional Information: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend a newly hired nurses orientation within the first 30 days of employment. Orientation includes precepted clinical training and competency validations specific to the emergency department. Annual competency verification requirements apply.
