Registered Nurse / Charge Nurse

Job Summary:
Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department located in Live Oak, Texas. This position involves overseeing patient care in a high-volume, level 1 or 2 trauma center, requiring strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role supports the delivery of critical emergency services and ensures compliance with unit policies and standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shifts, 12-hour shift hours, minimum 36 hours per week, with shifts starting 15 minutes prior to scheduled time for handoff and preparation.
• Required Qualifications: Valid TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS, CPI certifications; minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume emergency department; minimum 0 years of experience, with a focus on emergency care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma experience in a level 1 or 2 trauma center, strong clinical and rapid patient assessment skills, and the ability to recognize changes in patient condition and engage in critical thinking.
• Additional Information: The position involves managing a team of approximately 80 staff members across day and night shifts, working in a fast-paced emergency setting with trauma and critical care equipment, including GE, Stryker, and Plum 360 monitors. Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation and team-oriented behavior. The shift commences 15 minutes prior to start time to facilitate team huddles and patient preparation.
