Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in a community hospital setting. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to a diverse patient population, including general medical, cardiac, and oncology patients. The role emphasizes compassionate care, clinical proficiency, and adaptability to a fast-paced hospital environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, at least 1 year of clinical experience, with a minimum of 2 years total experience preferred, including experience in Progressive Care Units or similar settings.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac patients, post-cath lab procedures, and oncology patient care.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required throughout the hospital.
- Additional Information:
- Must be comfortable with cardiac rhythm interpretation and titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, Lasix.
- Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, TR band application, post-cath lab care, and central line maintenance.
- Care for a variety of patient conditions including COVID, PNA, stroke, sepsis, renal and cardiac issues, and oncology diagnoses.
- High volume of post-cath lab procedures including stent placements and initial patient assessments.
- High Spanish-speaking population (30%) and high volume of underserved charity care patients.
- EMR: Epic
- Weekend rotation at least 2 times per month, Friday/Saturday nights; schedule may vary based on hospital needs.
- No night shift or on-call required.
- Scrub color: Any color.
