Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in Lewiston, Maine. This role involves providing acute emergency care in a Level 2 trauma center with a 24/7 emergency department. The ER Nurse will be responsible for managing a wide range of patients from Pediatrics to Geriatrics, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ventilated patients, in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week minimum
• Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NIH certification, TNCC certification; 2 years` experience in non-trauma emergency department, with skills in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and ventilated patients
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with common diagnoses and treatments in emergency care, ability to work with wide age ranges from Pediatrics to Geriatrics, and comfort in a Level 2 trauma center, Chest Pain Center, and Primary Stroke Center
• Additional Information: The unit is a Level 2 trauma center with four critical care bays, equipped with ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro telecomputer, and Care Aware handheld devices. The electronic health record systems include OMNICELL, EPIC, and SBAR. The patient population includes pediatric to geriatric patients, primarily from an economically depressed area. The facility offers teleneurology services for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital, and there is no Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Candidates must be willing to float to ED holding when required.
