Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Madison, WI. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care on a fast-paced 28-bed acute care unit that also serves as a teaching environment. The position requires oversight of adult and geriatrics patients with complex medical diagnoses, including infectious diseases, and the ability to work within a collaborative team environment. The assignment is scheduled to start on 10/12/2026 and ends on 01/11/2027, with a weekly minimum of 36 hours across day shifts.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour dayshift hours between 0700 and 1930, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in an inpatient medical-surgical with telemetry setting, Wisconsin RN or compact RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, experience with Blood Product Administration, Central Line Care/Management, Interpretation of Dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV Insulin Protocols, Management of Dysrhythmias, Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MS/Tele), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive Airway Management, Oxygen Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC Line Management, Titration of Insulin Drips, Use of Rapid Response/Code Teams, and passing a telemetry test prior to start with two attempts allowed.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, general internal medicine, infectious disease care, and specialty care for patients with complex medical needs.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required as needed.
  • Additional Information: The RN will care for adult and geriatric patients, including those with special pathogens, across a fast-paced unit providing educational and clinical support. The assignment involves participating in interdisciplinary teams such as IV, Respiratory, and Physical Therapy, with a daily census of approximately 28-29 patients. Candidates must successfully pass a strict pass/fail telemetry exam and submit a cardiac interpretation review course certificate if necessary after multiple attempts. The facility is a Magnet-designated hospital ranked as Wisconsins #1 hospital and recognized as a leading teaching and referral center.
