Registered Nurse / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located at a major medical facility. This assignment involves providing specialized cardiac (open heart), neurovascular, and vascular surgeries, with the flexibility to work some weekends and call as needed. The role requires recent experience in cardiac surgeries, particularly in open heart procedures, and the ability to work both scrub and circulate.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour days, from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license (must be included in submission file)
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred at time of submission
  • Valid FL or compact license included in candidates file at time of submission
  • Recent cardiac (open heart) experience with at least 2 years as a CVOR RN, with the last 12 months including assignments at a Level 1 trauma facility in a major metropolitan area or an academic medical institution
  • Epic electronic medical record experience required
  • 2-3 years as RN with prior travel required
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • BLS and NCC certifications preferred
• Additional Information:
  • Candidates must have recent experience in cardiac (open heart) surgery, with the ability to cover neurovascular and vascular procedures as well
  • Candidates should be able to scrub and circulate, and work some weekends and call
  • No work history gaps over 30 days without documented explanation; rsum must include facility type, EMR, bed count, and at least one recent professional reference
  • Maximum of 8 RTO days permitted for the 13-week contract; no RTO during the first 2 weeks of assignment
  • All new RN starts must pass a specialty competency exam, EKG exam with mapping and interpretation, with a minimum score of 80%; 100% identification of lethal rhythms is required
  • Unit manager interviews are required for the interview process
  • Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (ACHA) processing may take up to 14 business days from receipt; start dates must allow for full compliance clearance time
• Travel: Travel is required for this assignment
• Float: An explicit float rotation is not required
