Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nursing position in a welcoming healthcare environment. The role involves caring for patients with varied acuity levels, including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke rule outs, and other complex conditions. This is a great opportunity for first-time travelers seeking to gain experience in a fast-paced medical-surgical setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: CPR, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); telemetry experience, CIWA, BiPAP, central line management, tube/drain management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills; no minimum years of experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Chest tube management, trach care, home vent skills.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, including to overflow areas, ED holding, and other service levels within scope.
- Additional Information:
- Orientation includes hospital orientation, modules, Epic training, safe patient handling, and glucose training.
- 12-hour orientation on the unit with a preceptor, followed by full assignment.
- Traveler telemetry competency exam is mandatory prior to start, graded by SimpliFi Compliance.
- Bedside handoff is expected, with shift documentation on the whiteboard.
- The culture is welcoming and traveler-friendly, with opportunities to extend assignment.
- Scrub color is flexible, and parking is free in designated areas.
- The assignment is scheduled from 10/05/2026 through 01/02/2027.
- No on-call requirements; holiday shifts vary and are coordinated with the nurse manager.
