Registered Nurse / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a domestic healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care for critically ill and premature neonates in a 32-bed NICU. The RN will work night shifts, focusing on stabilization, advanced neonatal procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, a minimum of 2 years recent Level 3 or greater NICU experience, experience caring for premature and critically ill neonates, including those requiring respiratory support, competency in management of patients receiving CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and mechanical ventilation, experience with umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), PICC lines, and central line management, proficiency in neonatal assessment, stabilization, and recognition of clinical deterioration, and Epic EMR experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Level IV NICU or regional referral NICU, caring for micro-preemies (less than 28 weeks gestation) and extremely low birth weight infants, experience with high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide, assisting with neonatal procedures such as PICC insertion and chest tube placement, and familiarity with therapeutic hypothermia protocols and care for infants with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
- Additional Information: The position involves neonatal resuscitation and stabilization, management of mechanical ventilation, umbilical line management, TPN and lipid administration, phototherapy, feeding tube placement, and discharge planning. The candidate must be team-oriented, adaptable, possess strong critical thinking and communication skills, and demonstrate a compassionate, family-centered approach.
