Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse position is located at a healthcare facility in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. This is a 7-week contract starting on 10/05/2026, with a rotating shift schedule. The role involves providing critical care to patients, including those with pediatric needs, in a unit with a 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Minimum of 2+ years ICU experience and prior critical access/rural experience highly preferred. Pediatric patients are occasionally treated, typically ENT or orthopedic cases.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree or Certification in nursing.
  • Float: Float to other units within skillset and other healthcare provider locations within a 40-mile radius including Tomahawk, Howard Young, and Eagle River. Float can be scheduled as needed.
  • On Call/Call Back: Low census periods may require being on call with a minimum call back of 2 hours.
  • Additional Information: The unit has a patient ratio of 1:2. Scrub color is flexible. No charting experience is required, as charting is done in EPIC. During flu season, vaccination non-compliance requires masks at all times, per hospital policy. Orientation week will not require scrub color uniform.
