Job Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in an acute care facility. The position involves providing high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, including general emergency complaints, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, behavioral health patients, geriatrics, and occasional pediatrics. The role requires adaptability, teamwork, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Shifts are 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The start date is 10/05/2026 and the end date is 01/09/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course); 2+ years of Emergency Department (ED) experience for traditional travelers, minimum of 4 years for Certified Advanced Practice providers.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, proficiency with Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
  • Support within the Department: 24/7 PCT (Patient Care Technician) and RT (Respiratory Therapist) support, hospitalist coverage available 24/7, ED physicians, mid-level providers, phlebotomy services by nurses and technicians, and general hospital orientation followed by unit-specific training.
  • Additional Information: Orientation involves 1-2 shifts on the unit followed by 2-3 shifts to learn the facility, with 2-3 weeks of initial learning before working independently. Scrub color may vary, and parking is free. The unit culture supports teamwork, professionalism, and flexibility.
