Registered Nurse / Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Job Summary:
A Certified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is needed at a healthcare facility in an outpatient setting. The position involves providing postoperative recovery care for patients, primarily in ophthalmology, general surgery, and other outpatient procedures. The shift is scheduled during the day, and the role requires a dedicated professional with strong PACU experience to ensure patient safety and care quality.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license in hand, minimum of 3 years of experience in PACU, Certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, experience with airway assessment, cardiac arrest/CPR, medication reconciliation, and monitoring anesthesia care (MAC) required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in ophthalmology, post-op assessment, and electronic charting using Epic system; previous experience with outpatient surgical units
  • Float: Float rotation may be required depending on patient census
  • Additional Information: The position involves post-shift call hours from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, which will vary based on departmental needs. Candidates must be flexible to work 3 out of 5 major holidays and must include RTO restrictions at the time of submission. The facility emphasizes adherence to all clinical protocols, including airway management and medication administration. Prior experience in outpatient ophthalmology and PACU is highly preferred, with a focus on patient safety and recovery management.
