Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse specializing in emergency care at a high-volume, high-acuity medical facility. This role involves providing critical care to a diverse patient population, including geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients, in a fast-paced environment with a patient census of approximately 230 visits per day. The position requires high competency in stroke and STEMI protocols and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a Magnet-designated, stroke-certified facility located within a 50-mile radius.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/06/2026 and ending on 01/05/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license accepted), 2+ years of ER experience, Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC or CEN.
- Preferred Qualifications: Epic charting system experience, additional certifications such as TNCC and CEN or CPN are highly preferred.
- Additional Information: High acuity, high volume ER with a patient load that predominantly includes geriatric and adult patients, with approximately 10% pediatric cases transferred to a specialized pediatric hospital. Must be willing to work at least 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week cycle. Ability to float between units including TELE hold and ICU hold as needed. Candidates must have at least 2 years of ER experience, with 1.5 years being a strict minimum. The facility operates a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and the role involves bedside procedures and transport of patients to various imaging and treatment units. RTO (Request for Time Off) requests must be included at submission, with a limit of 7 days at a time, and flexibility for holidays is required.
