Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) in an acute care setting. This position involves providing care to adult patients with a variety of diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary conditions. The role requires a caring nurse to support patients through complex needs, utilizing advanced equipment and adhering to unit-specific protocols. The shift is scheduled for nights, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with floating responsibilities as needed.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active New York Registered Nurse license, current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification, NIH Stroke Scale certification (must be obtained prior to start), valid driver`s license matching demographics, up-to-date resume demonstrating 2+ years of experience in medical-surgical stroke stepdown units with travel experience, NURSYS license verification, experience with electronic medical records (EPIC), and recent employment history reflecting travel assignments.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with adult patients on medical-surgical units, familiarity with common diagnosis management such as stroke, renal, COPD, CHF, and pneumonia, proficiency with IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit accommodates adult patients with complex medical needs, requiring expertise with specialty equipment and medication administration. Candidates must include RTO (Request for Time Off) at the time of submission.
