Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Wausau, WI. This 13-week assignment involves providing direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Unit, with a focus on adult patients experiencing a variety of respiratory, neurological, gastrointestinal, and infectious conditions. The role requires adaptability, resilience, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM 7:30 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS American Heart Association or American Red Cross, associate degree or certificate, minimum of 2 years of experience, trauma level II experience highly preferred, EPIC charting experience required, location in Wisconsin.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor`s Degree.
• Float: Float to all inpatient units as needed.
• Additional Information: The unit handles adult patients with conditions such as respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal issues, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious diseases, and alcohol withdrawal. Typical patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day shift and 1:6-7 during the evening. Candidates should be hard workers, resilient, adaptable to change, capable of working independently, and skilled in collaboration and communication. During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccinations are required to wear masks at all times. GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation, and holiday rotations occur every other week.
