Job Summary:
Cardiac Renal Unit registered nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing care to high-acuity telemetry patients, with a focus on cardiac and renal conditions, during night shifts. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with experienced staff, requiring strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
Job Details:
- Location: The primary site is a Midtown healthcare facility. Additional float options include campuses located within approximately 8 to 11 miles.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment begins on 10/05/2026 and concludes on 01/03/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Must hold an active compact license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. Minimum of two years of strong cardiac/telemetry experience, at least one travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required. Recent Electronic Health Record (EHR) system experience, specifically EPIC, is mandatory.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience interpreting 12-lead EKGs, initiating and titrating drips such as antiarrhythmics and heparin, and managing complex cardiac patients, including those with atrial fibrillation with RVR, atrial flutter, blocks, heart cath without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation, and dialysis.
- Float: First to float within skill set and to nearby campuses with a 2-hour notice, including mid-shift within the same campus. Cross-campus float is unlikely but possible.
- On Call/Call Back: Not required.
- Weekend/Holiday Schedule: Three weekends every six weeks; every other holiday.
- Additional Information: No competing health system or agency logos on scrubs. Precepting of students and new-hires may be required. Covid-19 vaccination not required but subject to change. GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation; guaranteed hours are set unless during holidays when the unit is closed.
